"The Angry Video Game Nerd" Friday The 13th (TV Episode 2006)

It's safe to assume quite a number of you are familiar with and if not then you're probably familiar with the series which seemed to skyrocket the sites popularity; James Rolfe's ‘Angry Videogame Nerd'. It's unfortunate that James has already come back from filming and will now completely overshadow Mike because he's such a dick like that, but those who are truly comedic connoisseurs will continue to acknowledge what lovely contributions that Mike Matte-Finish has made to his YouTube channel in his absence.

MT: Thank you very much from Retrospekt for taking the time out for this interview Mike and we all look forward to where both you and James take the site in the future. I love all these games series. The Angry Video Game Nerd along with the Nostalgia Critic, made a background cameo appearance in the anime Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited.

Collaborative friend Mike Matei helped in producing and publishing the videos on Cinemassacre, and released outside of the website as "The Quickies" tape, part of a four VHS tape set called the "Cinemassacre Gold Collection". Read on and learn more about the Zelda content featured on Cinemassacre as well as the reflections of an original Zelda fan, Mike Matei.

Reports of the shutdown first began in a comments thread on Cinemassacre when fans realized that they could not watch the channel's latest video, a first impressions review of Dark Souls for the Xbox 360 made by AVGN co-writer Mike Matei. Never played this one as I felt a bit of apathy towards the series after 7, and didn't play another Mega Man until X.

I know there are many more Spider-man related games that were not covered here, such as maximum carnage, the Spider-man arcade game and so on. The point of this video was to look at the 3D environment spider-man games, since the next game coming in 2018 will be in that style.

Motherfucker Mike was only supposed to be a character I played on Board James because I was a cheating bastard. Beginning in 2004, AVGN” is a comedic video game review series featuring Rolfe, acting as a hard-drinking, foul-mouthed retro gamer, takes extended critical looks at some of the worst games of the ‘80s and ‘90s.

The Nerd reviews, tells and recites his memories of reading the Nintendo Power magazine. I know that it's just another let's play on the internet and it's not a revolutionary show or anything, but it's fun, especially when they play games I had no idea existed.

James Rolfe's first videos were intended as "just a joke", with no intentions of making them public, showing them only to his friends. When the actual Nerd reviewed such a game in AVGN Games, he didn't Mike Matei know who Mike was. I love horror films and getting to edit all those reviews helps me learn so much more about them than I normally would by just watching them for enjoyment.

Despite this, in August 2012 Mike found out about this guy and decided to proclaim that those French reviews are basically ripping off James' act. And Matei has earned a huge fanbase of his own doing reviews of obscure games. With the hype of future Zelda games, sometimes it's easy to forget where the series began.

I do that for all 31 reviews, and then hand the entire thing over to James on a large hard drive. Mike Matei (b. 1980) is an actor, artist, and executive producer of Cinemassacre Productions, owned by his best friend James Rolfe , who he works with on writing, editing, and starring in a multitude of series.
